The TOP 2018 Workshop will take place in Bad Neuenahr, a small resort town located in the Ahr river valley, a region famous for its wines. Bad Neuenahr is about 30 km south of Bonn and located at the Ahr river, a tributary to the Rhine river. Follow this link to view the location of the town in Google maps.
The town has about 12,000 citizens and is part of the municipality of Bad Neuenahr-Ahrweiler. The workshop will be held at the Steigenberger hotel with its art nouveau halls. In the picture above you can see the lecture hall in which the sessions of the workshop will take place.
Below you see the floor plan of the ground of the hotel. The main entrance is at the left. On Sunday, September 16, there will be a registration desk just across the reception. All meals, including breakfast, lunch and dinner will be served in the Restaurant. We will use the "Salon Kaminzimmer" for the student Q&A sessions on Tuesday and Thursday.
The sessions of the conference will be held at the "Kurhaus" just across the street (not open to public traffic) from the hotel. We will use the "Großer Saal" for the sessions, including the Young Scientist Forum, and the "Barocksaal" for the poster session scheduled for Monday evening.
There is a public swimming pool and spa next to the hotel, the Ahr Thermen (Google Maps view). The spa will be open all days during the workshop from 9:00 to 22:00 hours. The entrance fee is 11 Euro for two hours. Check the photo gallery for a few impressions.
