Description

Workshop on the LHeC/FCC-eh and PERLE at LAL Orsay

This is the annual workshop to discuss the status of the developments, in physics and technology, for the LHeC as well as the ERL test and development facility PERLE. The workshop will discuss new results and provide an in depth overview on the preparation for energy frontier electron-proton and electron-ion collisions at CERN. It is the last big occasion to shape the project, its physics and technical solutions prior to the update of the LHeC CDR and the submission of documents to the European strategy process commencing in 2019. The workshop will discuss how eh and hh physics at the LHC, in its high luminosity and possible high energy phase, may lead to new insight into and beyond the Standard Model. It will summarise the work on FCC-eh. A novel detector for high precision, large acceptance deep inelastic scattering will be presented and developed further to be possibly built in the twenties. The workshop has plenary overview and parallel discussion sessions and aims at bringing together a large community interested in and engaged in preparing that future option. It will discuss recent theoretical physics and phenomenological results, new experimental methods and novel technology developments to make the LHeC and its further future a reality. It thus is open to the widest possible participation.
