Munich
Munich is the capital and the most populated city in the German state of Bavaria, on the banks of River Isar north of the Bavarian Alps.

The city is a major centre of art, advanced technologies, finance, publishing, culture, innovation, education, business, and tourism in Germany and Europe and enjoys a very high standard and quality of living.
Munich is well connected to the rest of the world, being an international business hub (MUC). It has links with most airports in Germany and Europe along with several intercontinental sites. The major airlines that Munich offers are Lufthansa and its Star Alliance partners (Terminal 2) although many other national and low-cost carriers are available (Terminal 1).
Garching - Forschungszentrum
Located 20 km north of Munich centre a city of Garching is the home for several research and university departments:

Institute for Advanced Study
The Collaboration Meeting will take place in the Institute for Advanced Study (IAS), in the middle of the Campus.
We meet in the Faculty Club, a conference room located on the top floor, which can host up to 100 people.
You reach the campus by subway (U-Bahn) line U6.
From Munich city or Garching city you take U6 to Garching-Forschungszentrum (that is the last station). Please take the north exit from the station (direction Lichtenbergstraße, Physik, Mensa...).
The conference venue will be just in front of you, 150 m from the exit you take. We meet in the Institute for Advanced Study, 4th floor "Faculty Club".
Please note in the Munich downtown there is U6 station called “Universität”. This is not where the meeting takes place
