A topical workshop on "MPGD stability"
will take place during the Collaboration Meeting, on Thursday 21.06.2018.
The purpose of this workshop is to discuss recent progress and developments in the field of MPGD stability against electrical discharges. Following topics are foreseen:
- measurements with MPGD structures (GEM, MM, THGEM, u-RWELL, etc.)
- physics of discharge phenomena
- simulations of discharge processes
- mitigation (or avoidance) strategies: resistive electrodes, optimisation of the HV systems
The keynote talk on discharge phenomena in gaseous detectors will be given by Prof. Vladimir Peskov (Russian Academy of Sciences, Moscow).
An overview on simulating of discharge phenomena will be given by Dr. Paulo Fonte (LIP, University of Coimbra, Portugal).
