In response to the Russian invasion of Ukraine and the subsequent statement of support from some Russian Federation Institutes, ISMD has suspended all involvement of those affiliated with Russian institutes from the ISMD International Advisory Committee and other internal committees.
Further, ISMD2022 will not host presentations or posters, or permit attendance, by speakers or authors affiliated with Russian Federation or Belorussian institutions. Any abstracts submitted with such authorship cannot be considered, and registrations for individuals associated with such institutions will be rejected.
Much as we deplore the politicisation of science, and appreciate the trade-offs involved in including individual scientists -- regardless of personal views -- in sanctions, ISMD cannot be associated in any way with such institutes. In addition, ISMD pledges to support Ukrainian scientists' participation with the conference in any way possible.
