Covid-19 updates

The Local Organising Committee considers the safety of participants to be of the utmost importance and is carefully monitoring the evolution of the pandemic.

The conference is planned to be primarily in live format with a degree of remote participation. The organisers will ensure all the necessary mitigations, beyond legal obligations, to guarantee a safe and welcoming environment for conference attendees in this pandemic situation.

This page will be updated regularly as the conference approaches according to the evolution of the pandemic.

At the time of writing (July 2022), there are no legal restrictions relating to Covid spread in the UK, including Scotland. However, the numbers of Covid cases are currently higher than in recent months (between 1/40 and 1/20 of the population) due to the Omicron BA5 variant, and so we urge sensible personal precautions. You are of course welcome to wear a protective face-mask in crowded places and public transport if you prefer, as well as during the conference sessions.

There are currently no Covid-related restrictions on entry to the UK, but we strongly recommend that you be fully vaccinated against Covid to the highest degree possible in your country of origin, and take a Covid test before travelling, and if possible during the conference.

In Scotland, coronavirus (as well as accident & emergency, and several other) healthcare treatments are provided free of charge if required: https://www.citizensadvice.org.uk/scotland/health/help-with-health-costs/nhs-charges-for-people-from-abroad/
