Scientific Symposium to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Higgs boson discovery
On 4 July 2012, a packed CERN Auditorium, joined by physicists in Melbourne on the eve of ICHEP2012, along with a global webcast audience, learned that the long-awaited Brout-Englert-Higgs mechanism had finally been revealed by the ATLAS and CMS experiments at CERN. The Spokespersons of both collaborations presented compelling evidence for the Higgs boson.
The following ten years have seen impressive advances in our understanding of the Higgs boson's properties, and there is much more to be learned. This anniversary symposium celebrates 10 years of Higgs boson physics, takes a look at the latest results, and considers future prospects.
Please note - Access to the main auditorium will be subject to registration and approval (shown as "Completed").
Those who are approved can collect their access badges outside the auditorium on Friday, 1 July between 14:00 - 16:00 and on Monday, 4 July as from 8:30.
Please respect CERN's COVID rules and do not attend with symptoms or if you test positive. Masks will be available at the entrance and are recommended.
The symposium will be relayed to the Council Chamber, for which registration is not required. The full symposium will be webcast with live captions. The morning session will also be webcast in French.
The Zoom room in the afternoon is only to allow remote participants to ask questions using the chat function.
