The primary objective of the school is to provide students in the area of Quantum Gravity with an up-to-date introduction to the fundamentals of canonical and covariant Loop Quantum Gravity (LQG), quantum black holes, and cosmology, with an emphasis on the numerous novel results achieved within the field over the past years. Students at the end of the school are expected to be able to follow the research talks and actively participate in the Loops'24 conference in the second week.
The lectures include:
Fundamentals of Loop Quantum Gravity
Kristina Giesel: Introduction to Canonical Loop Quantum Gravity
Francesca Vidotto: Introduction to Covariant Loop Quantum Gravity
Bianca Dittrich: Regge Calculus and Application to Loop Quantum Gravity
Special Topics in Loop Quantum Gravity
Abhay Ashtekar: Black Holes in Loop Quantum Gravity
Carlo Rovelli: Black Hole to White Hole Transition
Qiaoyin Pan: Chern-Simons Theory and Spin Foam Model with Cosmological Constant
Hongguang Liu: Numerics for Spin Foam Models
Parampreet Singh: Loop Quantum Cosmology
The registration is open until April 15, 2024. There is no registration fee. The participants are expected to arrange their own travel and accommodation. There may be financial support for the accommodations of a limited number of PhD students. To request the financial support, please send an application including CV and a recommendation letter from the advisor to loops24@fau.edu before March 15th.
