Description
Prompted by the FCC's feasibility study, which imposes stringent requirements for the design of the vertex detector, and taking advantage of the European (DRD) and American (CPAD) detector R&D activities, the FCC's Physics, Experiments and Detector (PED) group recognised the need to hold a meeting dedicated to the development of technologies for FCC-ee, with a focus on aspects related to the sensor, readout, support mechanics and integration with machine elements.
The objective of the meeting is to discuss how the different R&D activities that the community is developing can meet the needs of the FCC-ee vertex detector and provide feedback to the DRD and CPAD working groups. Given several convergent interests between the needs of the FCC-ee experiments and those of other colliders (including the EIC), synergies could be exploited and R&D planned to increase performance.
The results of the workshop will be useful for drafting the layout of the light vertex detector for the FCC feasibility study.
