Accommodation and OAC conference package

The venue of the conference is OAC (see Venue). You will receive informations about your OAC room booking via the conference email. You will be able to pay via the present official CERN Indico webpage (see new item in menu "How to make Payments" with link to secured payments).

OAC offers an all-inclusive package which includes accommodation, full board, and conference facilities.
For accompanying persons staying in OAC and sharing a double room the cost is 60 Euro per day including accommodation and meals. |
OAC meals

The conference organisation pays particular attention to have a rich selection of high quality and taste truly vegetarian dishes.

OAC provides breakfast and two meals per day, which are served in the dining room of the foundation. During the summer months, when the weather is good, meals are served on the big veranda of OAC, providing a magnificent sea view. There is a breakfast buffet and warm meals for lunch and dinner. The meals follow the traditional Cretan cuisine and include starters, salad, main course, fruit/dessert, as well as local wine and water.

To reserve a room in OAC please use the registration form in the left hand-side menu (in case of any problems please send an email to the conference email). Please do not proceed to any payment to OAC if you have not received a confirmation of your stay in OAC by the organizers.
In order to reserve a room and participation at the conference, each participant who is planning:
* to stay at the OAC, is asked to pay 120 Euro after confirmation from organizing committee (cost per 1 day)
* to be present in person, but stay elsewhere, is asked to pay 60 Euro (2 days of participation without meals),
as a non-refundable pre-payment.
Each participant who is planning not to travel to Crete, but take part at the conference via the internet, is asked to pay 50 Euro as a non-refundable lump sum payment for the whole conference duration.
Alternative accommodation
For participants wishing to make private arrangements for accommodation a list of hotels is provided: please see the list of hotels at the bottom of the page and contact the hotel of your choice directly.
Please note that participants not staying in OAC, are expected to pay 30 EUR per day to OAC for conference facilities and also includes coffee breaks (obligatory) and 15 EUR per meal, if they wish to take a meal.
The payment of 30 EU per day for facilities and coffee breaks is included in the price of the OAC room for those staying in OAC.
Therefore the overall price of the participation is the same for participants that find room in hotel with price less or equal than 60 EU per person, because adding the OAC fee of 30 EU and the OAC meals of 30 EU it comes up to 120 EU per person which is the price for single accommodation in OAC. It is very easy to find hotel in the price of up to 60 EU per person and even cheaper. Please see our webpage item on accommodation.
Note: Please specify in the registration form, in the left-hand side menu your preference, if you wish to take the OAC all inclusive package, share your room with another participant, or accompanying people or you prefer to proceed with private arrangements for accommodation.

The conference will provide daily bus connection between nearby hotels and OAC in the morning and in the evening.

Attention, it may be that online booking systems concern only the hotels they are associated with and not all hotels that are free in a region.
We suggest you to contact per telephone (the best) or email the hotels directly. Many of them offer appartements for like 60-80 EU with 2 bedrooms and living room which are optimal for a group or family.
