Notice: due to the COVID-19 situation, the workshop will take place in a fully online mode. Onsite presence has been cancelled.
Machine learning (ML) development has grown rapidly in the recent years for a broad set of applications. Because of the state-of-the-art performance achieved and an easy implementation on modern software, ML has become a powerful tool for problem solving in many different fields of science. In this workshop we aim at strengthening the local ML community, encouraging discussions between scientists of any background about their experiences in applying ML to their own research.
The second half of the workshop consists of a hands-on session. This session aims at introducing new researchers to realistic examples on how ML is used in different fields of science.
The workshop is targeted at Masters/PhD students and Postdocs with a general understanding of machine learning, aiming at deepening their knowledge, or being up to date with the new methods used by scientists of different backgrounds.
