School shuttle bus
A centrally arranged shuttle bus will take the participants from Rīga to Kuldīga on the Monday morning and back from Kuldīga to Rīga on the Friday afternoon. The pick-up and drop-off point in Rīga will be the RTU Ķīpsala campus. When registering for the event, please indicate if you will be travelling with the arranged shuttle bus.
Monday (Rīga-Kuldīga):
- departure from the RTU Ķīpsala campus at 7:00am;
- arrival at the school venue in Kuldīga around 9:30am.
Friday (Kuldīga-Rīga):
- departure from the school venue at 13:30;
- arrival at the RTU Ķīpsala campus around 16:00.
Other travel options
Rīga and Kuldīga is connected via a regular public bus transport. Timetable can be found here.
Should you be arriving from the west of Lithuania, there are also public busses between Palanga and Liepāja, from where one can take a bus directly to Kuldīga.
Should you choose to travel to the location of the school, please, make sure you inform the organisers in good time so that a parking location at or near the venue could be ensured.
Travel to Latvia
Riga International Airport (RIX) is the busiest airport in the Baltic states and the main hub airport of the Latvia's national airline - airBaltic. RIX has daily connections to the main European hub airports, such as Frankfurt, Amsterdam, Stockholm, Brussels, London, as well as other frequent lay-over destinations, such as Helsinki, Warsaw and Munich.
We encourage the participants to book their travel as soon as they have received the confirmation of their participation in the school to ensure that they can book the most convenient travel option.
In addition, daily bus travel is possible between Rīga and other cities in the Baltics, such as Tallinn, Vilnius and Kaunas. Additionally there are daily bus options between Rīga and Warsaw, but keep in mind that this trip usually takes between 13 and 14 hours.
NB! When booking your travel, please, keep in mind that we can only guarantee reimbursement from COST Action CA22130 - COMETA, for the duration of the event + 1 night; if your travel booking requires an extra hotel stay both for arrival to and departure from the event, only one of these hotel bookings can be guaranteed to be reimbursed.
