Description
The Vth INFIERI Workshop is held at CERN from April 27 to 29. CERN as INFIERI partner plays an important role in many aspects of the INFIERI scientific and technological programme and as unique training place.
The choice of CERN for this workshop, at this particular time, is also motivated by the restart of the LHC after the first long shutdown of almost 2 years: LHC is entering a new regime with an increased luminosity and center of mass energy from 8 to 13 TeV. LHC experiments are entering a new and challenging era in the exploration of the elementary world.
Besides LHC and the High Luminosity LHC project, CERN is gathering the development of novel projects on the beyond-LHC machines (FCC, CLIC), the future Neutrino worlwide facilities, and a number of R&D projects. This workshop will present some of them in talks by CERN experts.
Two outreach sessions will be held at the end of the two first days from 5h30 to 7pm one will be organized by Stefano Mersi and will include the visit of the Test facilities for Silicon tracking developments for Phase 1 and Phase 2 (HL-LHC) and the second one will allow a visit to the IDEASQUARE that has been set up by Marzio Nessi at CERN for nurturing innovation at CERN. We hope also to have Marzio's presentation about the IDEASQUARE iniative and possible developments and outcomes in the WP8 session dedicated to the Outreach.
These two outreach sessions will be organized this coming week as they might need to have a limited number of people to attend each of them. Stay tunned.
The workshop is organized in 3 FULL DAYS of PLENARY SESSION.
The poster of the workshop, made by Franco Ligabue (SNS-Pisa) is here attached in the "slides" at the end of this section.
