Description

The ALICE ITS upgrade and O2 Asian Workshop 2014 @ Thailand will take place in Centara Anda Dhevi Resort and Spa, Krabi, Thailand, between June 16-18, 2014.

The purpose of the workshop is to bring together ALICE ITS Asian-Collaboration. It is held every six months among Asian Countries. The first one was in Inha university, Incheon, South Korea during 5-6 April 2013. The second meeting was in Central China Normal University during December 19-20, 2013.

This is the third workshop for ALICE ITS upgrade in Asia and this time we have joined with the O2 project which aims at designing and creating a completely new computing system for the inspection, the read-out and the online reconstruction of all the LHC interactions at a rate of up to a rate of 100 kHz. The main goal of the workshop is to allow the participants to share experiences, report their activities and progress.

The workshop is sponsored by Suranaree University of Technology(SUT) , Synchrotron Light Research Institute (Public Organization) (SLRI) and Thai Physics Society (THPS) .
