The European School in Instrumentation for Particle and Astroparticle Physics (ESIPAP) aims at training Master, PhD students and professionals to the high standard of instrumentation in use in particle and astroparticle physics.
The organization of ESIPAP is very similar to that of JUAS, the Joint University Accelerator School. Like JUAS, it will be based at ESI in Archamps (France) next to Geneva.
Although ESIPAP was founded by the laboratory of excellence ENIGMASS, it will recruit worldwide Master and PhD students as long as professionals seeking continuing education in instrumentation.
ESIPAP is split in two modules of one month each, that can be prepared the same year or separately. All lectures will end by proper knowledge evaluations of the students, so as ESIPAP may deliver ECTS that can be recognized in European university training programs.
As JUAS , ESIPAP seeks to develop partnerships with European universities. This is already the case with the universities of Strasbourg, Grenoble, Savoie and INP Grenoble. The PH department of CERN, where lab sessions will be organized, also supports ESIPAP. Discussions are on going with other organizations.
