Description
Xth Annual Workshop on Soft-Collinear Effective Theory (SCET) at Duke University
This is the 10th in a series of workshops on the application of Soft-Collinear Effective Theory (SCET) to problems in particle and nuclear physics. SCET has been applied to heavy flavor physics, collider physics, heavy ion physics, and even quantum gravity. The goal of the workshop is to bring together researchers interested in SCET and related field theory methods (e.g., perturbative QCD) to discuss the latest developments in the field. In order to ensure an informal atmosphere with plenty of time for discussion, attendance is limited to about 60 participants.
This conference is hosted by Duke University and supported by the DoE Office of Science, Duke's Office of Global Strategy and Programs (OGSP), and the Lattice and Effective Field Theory (L/EFT) group.
The conference will be held at the recently built French Family Science Center which is adjacent to the Physics Department at Duke University. There will be an informal welcome reception at the French Family Science Center for arriving participants from 6-10 pm, Wednesday, March 13. There will also be a conference dinner at the Doris Duke Center on the evening of Friday, March 15.
