Description
LHC experiments are diverse environments that bring together thousands of members from various countries to achieve common goals. Thus, they offer great opportunity for successful collaboration. However, the culturally diverse nature of these collaborations also presents unique hindrances. Differences in culture can manifest in our communication style. This directly affects how we perceive interpersonal interactions. At ALICE, we run two workshops aimed at promoting wellbeing and inclusivity in the collaboration with the hope of mitigating such conflicts. Inclusive Workspaces is arranged remotely to enable participation from people in all time-zones. A new course Collaborating in Culturally Diverse Teams is offered in-person only during the ALICE collaboration weeks. In this talk, we will share rationale, content, and experiences from the two courses we are currently arranging within the ALICE collaboration.
