The Extreme Light Infrastructure (ELI ERIC) is a research facility with the world’s largest and most advanced collection of high-power lasers. As an international user facility dedicated to multi-disciplinary science and research applications ELI provides access to world-class high-power, high-repetition-rate laser systems and enables cutting-edge research in physical, chemical, materials, and medical sciences, as well as breakthrough technological innovations. The ELI ERIC operates as a single multi-site organisation with complementary facilities specialised in different fields of research with extreme light: ELI Beamlines in Dolní Břežany (Czech Republic) and ELI ALPS in Szeged (Hungary). The ELI Nuclear Physics in Măgurele (Romania) is expected to join the ERIC in the future. ELI Beamlines located in Dolní Břežany (on the outskirts of Prague) is the High-Energy Beam Facility, developing and applying ultra-short pulses of ultra-intense radiation to explore extreme conditions or produce high-energy particles and radiation. |
