Description
The OCRA (Outreach Cosmic Ray Activities) INFN programme involves 24 divisions all over Italy and offers activities for both students and teachers: participation in the International Cosmic Day - ICD organised by DESY, science camps for students, and training courses for teachers, structured as three-day events organised in the framework of the PNRR Cherenkov Telescope Array Plus project. In addition to the national efforts, local initiatives of the OCRA member groups enrich the variety of activities: workshops, participation in science festivals, and the development of new detectors for outreach activities offer a variety of opportunities for students and teachers to interact with researchers and explore the world of cosmic rays.
We will give an overview of the OCRA activities at large, with a special focus on the course “Discovering cosmic rays” at the Gran Sasso National Laboratories - INFN for in-service high school physics teachers.
