Description

It is well known that the decay rates of leptonic decays of mesons, as well as the rates and angular observables of semileptonic decays of mesons and baryons, can provide a window to physics beyond the Standard Model. We point out the difficulties and prospects of such an endeavor in the case of $c\to s e\nu$ for which both the experimental and theoretical uncertainties are under control. Besides the generic EFT approach, we also discuss several specific models of physics beyond the Standard Model.
