Description
2013 meeting of the LHCPhenoNet network. The meeting starts on Monday at 2pm, and finishes by Thursday afternoon. Everyone is welcome to stay through Friday for collaborative work etc.

A set of rooms (both singles and doubles, which could be cheaper for students or convenient for those of you visiting with a companion) have been pre-booked at the CERN Hostel, covering the period Sunday (check-in) through Friday (check-out). To reserve them, you must request michelle.connor@cern.ch (do NOT contact the Hostel, they will refuse your booking), indicating the nights of your stay.

To register your laptop, follow the link:
http://registerVisitorComputer
and provide Elena Gianolio (PH department, AGS group) as contact person.

The meeting will be broadcast via Vidyo.

        CERN

Safety information for the visitors: closed, flat or block-heeled shoes are required for the site visits (duck board) and helmets will be provided; Access to underground areas is forbidden to pregnant women and to persons equipped with any of the following: pacemaker, defibrillator, electronic medicine dispenser, hearing aid, metal implant. The bus will be waiting on the Road Bohr close to the Foyer for departing to CMS at 16h30. It takes about 1/2 hour to get from Meyrin to Point 5 in Cessy. Four CMS guides are confirmed. For security reasons, not more than 24 visitors are admitted to the cavern (12 persons/guide). Upon arrival at Point 5, two guides will take down the group of 24 persons, the other two guides will give a tour on the surface. Then, the groups will be swapped. This means that unfortunately the visit is limited to 48 persons. Please, check that you reserved a place at registration (see attached file)

Documenting through activity diagrams in VINCIA 30m
Speaker: Juan Jose Lopez Villarejo (CEA/IRFU,Centre d'etude de Saclay Gif-sur-Yvette (FR))
        Slides
VINCIA is a Monte Carlo parton shower, which aims to provide a fast and precise simulation of high-energy proton-proton collisions at LHC. It is a plug-in to PYTHIA 8, currently under development. It features Markov multiplicative multi-leg matching to exact matrix-elements.
There is a considerable knowledge gap between the algorithm as explained in the papers and the actual workings of the code. In VINCIA, we aim to document the code through high-level activity diagrams (workflows) in order to bridge this gap. These diagrams will be generated automatically from special comments written alongside the c++ code by the developers. This is akin to Doxygen documentation, but incorporates 'dynamical' information on the execution flow.
