This workshop brings together communities from the HSF, OSG and WLCG to make progress on common challenges faced in HEP Software and Computing in the next decade. Common plenary sessions will discuss how we solve software and computing issues as an 'end-to-end' problem. In parallel each community will have plenty of time to discuss plans in their area.
Please note please do make sure you register if you plan to attend.

Quick overview of this session
An overview of the activities, targeted at members and at the general public. If you are not a member of the working group this is a good opportunity to get an overview and there is no need to stay for the rest of the session.
We discuss the state of the art of the resource estimation up to HL-LHC for each experiment and explore commonalities.
We discuss recent developments and different approaches in the cost estimation for WLCG sites, from hardware to human effort.
We illustrate the latest versions of the reference workloads and performance measurements.
We discuss performance metrics and what has to be done to derive the agreed metrics from the data collected by the multitude of tools we have.
Studies on caches and data popularity. Discussing the relation with DOMA access and DOMA QoS.
New iteration of the attempt to quantify the potential gains by optimization at all levels
Discussion on the update of the working group's roadmap, the medium term plan and the next steps
How do we communicate? forum (egroups, slack, etc)? Dedicated meetings? hackathon?
Find the expert: where can I see what expert can I ask about tool/data format XYZ?
E.g. I’d like to learn about Rucio traces, what to find in them, and maybe also take some example of the already done analytics ...
⇒ rudimentary doc (it doesn’t have to be perfect!)? List of experts with areas?
List of open problems ⇒ to attract potential contributors
Collect "challenges", their impact and possible improvements
Several alternative strategies for lightweight deployment and operations at sites have been presented in this session. We would like to assess which circumstances are matched by which strategies, so that each site may make its own optimal choice for the coming years.
