Joint Accelerator Performance Workshop 2023
Royal Plaza Montreux & Spa
The Joint Accelerator Performance 23 Workshop (JAP23) will take place from 5 to 7 December 2023 at the Royal Plaza Montreux.
The JAP23 Workshop is meant to bring together accelerator and operation teams across the accelerator complex, with the input from the experiments. Its focus will be performance achievements, limitations and lessons from 2023 as a key to define configuration and performance goals for 2024. It is intended to be a forum for open technical discussion with a strong emphasis on new topics and results.
The JAP23 Workshop will address:
- Progress with issues raised in 2022, new observations in 2023;
- Beam intensity limitations in injectors and in LHC;
- Beam quality along the accelerator chain (LHC and fixed target beams);
- Accelerator and equipment performance/efficiency analysis;
- New experimental requirements.
The main outcomes of the workshop are expected to be:
- Updated performance limitations;
- Definition of 2024 targets for operational improvements;
- Priorities for machine and modeling studies;
- Input to CONS project;
- Input to Chamonix 2024 Workshop on expected LHC beam performance.
Please note that attendance is by invitation only, while a Zoom link will be made available throughout the workshop for partial or total remote participation.
