CLIC Workshop 2016
Several rooms
CERN
The CLIC workshop 2016 covers Accelerator as well as the Detector and Physics studies, with its present status and programme for the coming years.
For the Accelerator studies, the workshop spans over 5 days: 18th -22nd of January.
For CLICdp, the workshop is scheduled from Tuesday afternoon January 19th to lunchtime on Friday 22nd.
Registration is now closed
Programme
Common parts:
1- An open plenary session on Wednesday afternoon January 20th, giving an overview of the CLIC project (accelerator, physics/detector), placed in the context of LHC results. This session also addresses the use of CLIC-related developments in other applications.
2- A common plenary accelerator/detector&physics session on Friday morning January 22nd.
3- The workshop dinner on Wednesday evening.
Dedicated Accelerator sessions:
1- Parallel sessions on Monday afternoon, Tuesday and Wednesday morning
2- A session on Thursday covering High-Efficiency RF Power sources developments for CLIC and for other accelerator applications like ESS, FCC and other high-power electron and proton linacs.
3- A CLIC/CTF3 Collaboration Board on Friday afternoon
Dedicated Detector and Physics sessions:
1- Topical sessions on Tuesday afternoon, Wednesday morning and all of Thursday.
2- The CLICdp Institute Board meeting will take place over lunch on Thursday.
3- A CLICdp dinner is organised for Thursday evening.
We are looking for the widest possible participation and encourage in particular the involvement of young colleagues.

Photon structure functions at the ILC/CLIC energy rangeThe future e+e- linear collider ILC/CLIC will allow for measurement of the photon structure functions in a wider range of kinematic variables x, Q^2 compared to the previous results of experiments at the LEP. The classical way to measure the photon structure functions is the study of e+e- → γγ → e+e- X process, where X is the leptonic or hadronic final state. For a study of the QED and hadronic photon structure functions the simulations of two-photon processes were performed at the ILC/CLIC centre-of-mass energy using Monte Carlo generators and the ILCSoft package. In this analysis information from the forward detectors have been used.Speaker: Beata Krupa (Institute of Nuclear Physics Polish Academy of Sciences)
-
124
Measurement of the top-quark mass in the continuumA linear collider will provide a very precise top-quark mass measurement at the threshold. We propose to use the process ttbar+photon to measure the top-quark mass in the continuum. The MC study was performed at 500 GeV and also extrapolated to 380 GeV providing an estimation of the observable sensibility around 150 MeV. This method could be a good complementary measurement without requiring any change in the accelerator schedule.Speaker: Marçà Boronat (IFIC - CSIC)
-
125
Measurement of double Higgs production at CLICWe present a study of the HHvv->bbbbvv and HHvv->bbWW*vv channels, with sub channels of WW* decaying fully hadronically, semi-leptonically and fully leptonically. These channels are useful for probing the Higgs triple gauge coupling and quartic coupling. Reconstructed particles are grouped into a number of jets according to signal topology. B jets are identified using the LCFIPlus processor and a BDT classifier completes the signal selection. Current measurement precisions will be presented.Speaker: Boruo Xu (University of Cambridge (GB))
-
126
Vector Boson Scattering (W,Z) at CLICWe present new results for vector bosons scattering (W,Z) at CLIC. These are simulations (1.4 and 3 TeV) with WHIZARD in the SM EFT approach (SM with Higgs + anomalous higher-D operators), for complete partonic processes. The results include the impact/necessity of unitarization.Speaker: Mr Christian Fleper (Universität Siegen)
-
127
Single-photon processes at e+e- collidersWe explore scenarios where the only accessible new states at the electroweak scale consist of a pair of color-singlet electroweak particles, whose masses are degenerate at the tree level and split only by electroweak symmetry breaking at the loop level. Due to the mass-degeneracy, those lower-lying electroweak states are difficult to observe at the LHC and rather challenging to detect at the e+e− collider as well. We exploit the pair production in association with a hard photon radiation in high energy e+e− collisions.Speaker: Jan Henryk Kalinowski (University of Warsaw (PL))
-
128
Production of Inert Scalars at the e+e- Linear CollidersWe investigate the phenomenology of the charged and neutral scalars in Inert Doublet Model (IDM) at future e+e- linear colliders with center of mass energies of 0.5 to 1 TeV and integrated luminosity of 500 fb-1. The analysis covers two processes, i.e. $e^{+}e^{-} \rightarrow H^{+}H^{-}$ and $e^{+}e^{-}\rightarrow AH$, and consists of a phenomenological signal selection as well as dark matter mass measurement. Several benchmark points are studied with focus on $H^{\pm} \rightarrow W^{\pm}H$ and $A \rightarrow ZH$ decays. It is concluded that the signal should be well observable in different final states and by combining information from different channels the dark matter mass should also be measurable with a reasonable precision.Speaker: Aleksander Filip Zarnecki (University of Warsaw)
